- Book summer weekends early. July 4th week and the big summer Saturdays fill first.
- Ask about a boater education card. Rules for who can drive a rental differ in NC and SC, and by age. The rental company will tell you what they need.
- Ask what's included: fuel, life jackets, a cooler, a captain.
- Check the lake level. In a drought some marinas limit where rentals can go. See today's level.
